“Held by Light” an Abstract Art Painting
Price range: £18.95 through £34.95
Held by Light is a contemporary abstract landscape inspired by the power of light, contrast and visual movement.
Deep teal, blue and green create a cool, atmospheric foundation, while a concentrated burst of gold and yellow breaks through the composition with striking intensity. Small accents of crimson and silver add energy, texture and contrast, creating a focal point that immediately draws the eye.
From that luminous centre, sweeping lines, layered brushwork and reflected colour carry the viewer through the painting. Quieter areas of blue and teal provide balance and space, allowing the brighter passages to feel even more powerful.
Although the painting suggests the atmosphere of a Scottish loch, distant hills and reflected light, it remains deliberately abstract. The viewer is free to interpret the scene as landscape, water, weather, light or simply as an arrangement of colour and movement.
Held by Light was created around a simple question: why does one painting hold our attention?
Its answer lies in the relationship between contrast, colour, texture, balance and movement. The eye is first attracted to the light, then encouraged to travel through the surrounding shapes and repeated accents before returning again to the focal point.
The result is an energetic yet balanced painting that explores not only the beauty of light, but the way a composition can quietly guide the way we look.
